My Health Regimen

Posted on Posted in Film Issues, Mind-Body Healing, Production Notes, Treatments

I just realized that I hadn’t updated you all on how my health is since my last post, which was on Oct. 12th, titled “Going Home!“.

Since then, I’ve “rebooted” my diet, starting from scratch and trying more supplements to heal my gut on a deeper, more foundational level. It only took about 2 days for me to have my next bowel movement after all the diarrhea on Monday night, but when it happened, it was solid and it’s been that way since.

I thought you might be interested to know what I do to combat against my Crohn’s disease. The specific foods I eat (aside from the supplements) might change a little from week to week, but for the past two weeks this is what I’ve been eating. Supplements are generally rock solid and haven’t changed in a long time or I’m experimenting with one and will stick with it until the supply runs out. I don’t ever try something for a few days and quit, unless I know it’s causing bad symptoms.

A couple things to note, when possible (pretty much 100% of the time), I am eating organic, free-range and grass fed types of foods. Also, I don’t drink liquid when I eat as it dilutes the stomach acid needed to break down food and make digestion more efficient.

Any questions, let me know in the comments.

After Waking, drink and take supplements

Drink 16oz of water with the following mixed in

  • ½ teaspoon of Natren Megadophilus
  • ½ teaspoon of Natren Bifidofactor
  • ½ teaspoon of Natren Digesta-Lac

While drinking the above I’ll swish the mixture around in my mouth for a few seconds occasionally so that the Lactobacillus Acidophilus in the Megadolphilus has a chance to populate my mouth.

1 tablespoon of organic Hemp Oil

Drink 16oz of water with the following mixed in

  • 6 drops of Vitamin D3 – 6,000 IU (just started yesterday, 10/29/2010)
  • 1 teaspoon of Glutamine powder
  • 1 capsule of MucosaHeal (capsule opened and powder mixed in)

Drink 8-10oz of non-concentrate, organic OJ

Take Freeda Vitamin A (50,000 IU) (just ran out today, trying to discontinue use)

Take Dr. Mercola Multi Vitamin Plus (used to take Freeda SCD Multi-Vitamin until a few days ago)

  • 3 capsules of MucosaHeal (capsule opened and powder mixed in)

Go to bed!

I am fully aware that I am missing out on vegetables and fruits and will be correcting that. The night before I came home from my trip in Maryland, I had diarrhea and felt like I needed to “reboot” my diet and start from scratch. The best way to do that is to include a small amount of food that you know won’t upset your symptoms and then add one new food at a time. This process takes a while to build a large and diverse menu but I think it will be worth it in the long run. I was waiting 4 days before trying new foods, but now I will only wait 2 days. My bowels are doing great, my gut feels calm, no pain, very little gas, if any and my energy is increasing as I add more supplements (Dr. Mercola Multi Vitamin Plus & Vitamin D3).

Again, any questions, let me know.

  • i eat a litte raw Sauerkraut before every meal and it helps!! sounds like your doing great my blessings your way=james

    • Thanks! I want to try adding sauerkraut. Last time I had it, earlier this spring, it gave me a lot of gas and my gut felt very acidic. Since then, I found out I had zero Lactobacillus Acidophilus in my gut and have started taking more probiotics. Maybe now I can handle the sauerkraut better. I’ll find out.

  • Hey, Reid. How did you start on the MucosaHeal? I am just recovering from a flare-up and am slowly starting to add the Bifidum strain of the Natren probiotics. I am doing very slow on the probiotics since I have de-tox effects and do not want to make things worse. Do you think I need to be that slow on starting the MucosaHeal? I know my gut can give me the best answer to this question, but I just need to know how things have worked for other people before I try to add new stuff. Your website is quite helpful! Thanks for keeping it up!

  • Hi Lilia,

What I did was I took one cap in the AM, one in the afternoon and 3 at night before I went to bed. I didn’t experience any negative effects.

But yeah, do go slowly if you have die-off effects with other things. Best of luck to you.

  • Beneficial info and excellent design you got here! I want to thank you for sharing your ideas and putting the time into the stuff you publish! Great work!
