Empowered IBD Patient – Meghan Telpner

After releasing my Crohn’s documentary, I want to feature other empowered patients to help you understand what and how they overcame their IBDs.

I recently read an amazing post by Meghan Telpner. She is a Toronto-based author, speaker, nutritionist, and founder of the Academy of Culinary Nutrition.

Meghan, on top of the world!

She was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2006 and over that time has discovered how to overcome her condition by becoming empowered. She did her own research and experimentations.

A lot of what she did falls into the 5R Healing IBD Framework. I hope to interview her after she reviews my documentary to discuss what she did and how it maps to the framework.

For now, read her piece. It’s one of the best I’ve read in a long time. It took her ten years to get it all down because it truly can take that long to synthesize everything that needs to be done. Overcoming these devastating conditions truly requires a lifestyle change into a healthstyle. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.
